This is a canvas work Christmas decoration made on 14 count canvas with various different stitches and embellished with silver thread. |
This is a basic gold work snowdrop that I made at a day school with Melissa Cheeseman. I couched Jap on to the leaves and outlined with Pearl Purl. The flower head was filled with bright check.
The piece was worked on blue silk and was an interesting start to learning gold work. |

A gold work butterfly worked with No.6 smooth bright check and No. 6 Gutermann and No. 1 Pearl Purl. I used a basic cotton material for the background which draws the eye closer into the gold work detailing
|
Based on a 17th Century embroidery raised work this Stumpwork rose was stitched with three strands of DMC stranded cotton. The large leaf was worked in detached button hole stitch and for the stem I used trailing stitch.

This is a 'slash bag', made at a day school with Coral Singleton. Layers of material are quilted together to form the basic structure which is then slashed with scissors to create an interesting, contemporary result. |
